The style i decided to go with was a simple split page. one side being the navigator the other being the content, this web style has been around along time, however its just only currently being highly used by designers of all fields.

they style is as simple as it gets, but can be used very dramatically, the reason its such a good use, is because if you are a designer you generally upgrade you website with new content quite often, with a standard html template, you would have to go to every single page E.g ( Index, about, portfolio ) etc to add a new link, with this style all you do is use one page E.g ( Navigator ) and the rest being the normal pages.
the navigator is located on the left side of the website generally, and can be upgraded separately, when you click a link in the navigator, it will only change the content and not modify the navigator page. this means you never have to worry about links again, this of course can be done other-ways, such as server, or setting up a site-map in dream-weaver. but im talking about pure hrml.

Another example above. same style, the only difference is that this one uses java-script expand, collapse columns for her/his content.

same concept as the others, however, this one scrolls the content left and right, and links, logos etc are all locked in place.

and lastly another simple side menu, with a menu all so at the top of the page.
this is only a small amount of these style of websites, still the main style are blogs generally for graphic designers since there easy to manage and require little effort to maintain, and comes with build in comment and stats. then next most used is probably flash, designers love to use flash because it allows you to do things html / css carnt.
